Updates. Stuff. News?

  • I’m going to be published (!) in Search Work, an anthology curated by Rachel Meade Smith of Words of Mouth. The collection (set to be published by Brooklyn-based OR Books in 2026) will explore the activity of looking for work through essays, interviews, and other text-based and visual ruminations.

  • My short story “Swamp Girl” will appear in the 2025 issue of Culture and Tradition, Canada’s longest-running bilingual folklore journal. The piece is a retelling of Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué’s 1811 fairy tale novella, Undine, in which a weird little water spirit marries a knight in order to gain a soul. The story was Hans Christian Anderson's inspiration for writing The Little Mermaid. My loose, slightly spooky retelling is set in 1960s Florida and explores themes of female passivity, sexuality, religion, and spirituality.
